Gupta-Vakataka – 5th Century – Phophanar, Madhya Pradesh

This is an unusual Buddha from the hoard, as it shows a garment covering both shoulders. An inscription on the back tells us it was a “Gift of Bhadanta Buddhadasa, preacher of the Sakyas”.
