Subrahmanya Vijayanagar – 15th-16th Century- South India
The figure shows the four-armed Subrahmanya on a circular lotus pedestal with the arms bifurcating at the shoulders. In the rear right hand he holds Goddess Shakti, with the front right hand in kataka-mudra as though holding an arrow. The rear left hand, which was probably carrying a vajra, is now lost. The front left hand is in a gesture suggesting he was once holding a bow.
